Senator Chuck Schumer and Congresswoman Kathy Hochul are trying to restore federal funding to help deal with the economic devastation that will result from Emerald Ash Borer infestation, already beginning here in Western New York. EAB has been confirmed in Buffalo and Rochester. What it seems the federal funding will go toward, trying to limit the infestation, is fruitless. This has been proven in Michigan and the other states that have been dealing with EAB since 2002. Funding to help homeowners treat and/or remove their ash trees would be money better spent.
